The mission of the United Methodist Church is to “make disciples of Jesus Christ.”
The goal of all the Christian bodies called “United Methodist” is to nurture and disciple people toward Christian maturity. John Wesley called this, “going on to perfection.” That is, our spiritual life is not only to accept Christ as “Savior and Lord,” but also to be on a life journey with him to the end that God’s love has influence over all of our lives.
Our commitment at First United Methodist Church is to welcome all who seek God, equip all who are disciples and send all who are discipled into the ministries to which Christ has called them.
Welcome to the journey!
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” ~attributed to John Wesley, founder of Methodism
